Michael Lohan Worried About Daughter, Ali

While the Mean Girls actress is set to begin her 90-day jail sentence on July 20th, Michael Lohan worries his 16-year-old daughter Ali will be taken care of by Lindsay’s “bimbo friends”.

He said:

I don’t think that anyone thought that Lindsay was going to go to jail except for me. I came out here because I knew it was a very, very possible thing. And my concern, at that point, was if Lindsay went to jail and Ali was with her and she’s only 16, who is she going to be with? Lindsay’s bimbo friends? So I had to be there.

The teen currently lives with Lindsay and Michael called police after the hearing last Tuesday because he was concerned, telling Access Hollywood:

I knew there was going to be an issue, so I went and called 911. I called the Beverly Hills Police Department. I said, listen, ’I’m Michael Lohan; my daughter Lindsay is just getting sentenced to jail time; they might take her away and my 16 year old is going to be on her own. I’m her father and I don’t know the people she’s with. I want to take her with me and I’m afraid there’s going to be a problem.’

Oy! Meanwhile, Linds could potentially earn over $500,000 for her first interview about the case. Is that fair?

Michael Lohan To Fight Harsh Jail Sentence

He was there to support his daughter in the court room yesterday, and now Michael Lohan has written a letter to Judge Revel asking her to reconsider jail time and replace it with another three months in a treatment program.

He tells Larry King:

Any time in jail is harsh, especially for a young lady like Lindsay that doesn’t need jail. I’ve been there myself, and I know jail didn’t do anything for me with my addictions… I’m sorry. I’m just… a little upset…

Michael continues:

This girl needs a rehab. She needs help… If Lindsay’s lawyer and Lindsay would have just listened to us, she would have been in a rehab, she would have been on her way to being clean and sober and have her life back. Instead, she got jail and – jail and rehab.

Lisa Bloom, his lawyer, chimes in:

I don’t want there to be misinterpretation that Michael and I think the sentence was appropriate because we don’t. And we sent a letter to the court today. We sent one previously, begging the court not to incarcerate her because I’m a pragmatist, Larry. What message does it send to someone if they go to jail for 84 minutes or for a day and a half?

Dina Lohan also told Popeater that it’s not “fair to do this” to her child. Do you think Lindsay’s setence was too harsh?

Michael Lohan Pleased With Court Ruling

Really, did you expect him NOT to comment on the situation?

Lindsay Lohan’s father is happy with the courts decision to have his daughter avoid alcohol and drugs for the foreseeable future. In order to enforce this, Judge Marsha Revel is having her wear a device around her ankle.

She must sport this “accessory” at all times. If she fails to stay sober, she faces jail time. Michael says:

I’m in favor of anything that keeps my daughter out of jail and helps her with her substance abuse problem. I still contend that the prescription drugs are her major problem.

Oy. At least it seems she’s headed down the right path finally. Hopefully she’s able to follow the rules!

Michael Lohan Disgusted With Lindsay's Decision To Play Porn Star

After photographer Tyler Shields confirmed he had been contacted to work on a film about infamous porn star Linda Lovelace, it was revealed Lindsay was chosen to take the lead role.

Her estranged father, Michael, believes this will be nothing but disastrous for the actress. He says:

Oh, I don’t even want to go there… Come on! Seriously – why? She did Parent Trap, Confessions (of a Teenage Drama Queen), Freaky Friday, Mean Girls, Just My Luck and Herbie. And you know what? Georgia Rule was a fantastic movie.

Michael continues:

People don’t give her credit for it, but that was one of her best acting jobs. But I mean, she started with Parent Trap and now this? Why? Who makes these decisions? If I was there, it would never happen, believe me. There’s no way to resurrect your career after that. So many people have come to me with offers for Lindsay for great family-style films, general audience kind of releases, but you know … whatever.

So much for backing off of the situation, huh?

Lindsay Lohan Continues To Deny Substance Abuse Problems

The actress insists she has no problems with drinking or drugs, despite the fact she’s attending court-ordered alcohol education classes as part of her probation after pleading guilty to cocaine use and no contest to drunk driving and reckless driving charges following a 2007 arrest.

Lindsay Lohan tells Entertainment Tonight:

When did I stop being okay? I am fine. I am happy and I am working. And I’m good. And I’m surrounded by great friends now. You know, I have weeded out a lot of people in my life. I don’t (have substance abuse problems). I work. And if I go out with my friends, I’m 23 and I’m allowed to do that. I don’t go out when I’m working.

As for the recent snapshots of her falling in the street, the 23-year-old adds:

I’m the most clumsy person in the world. I do trip a lot. I fall. I walk into walls sometimes.

She has a point. If you’re wearing high heels, tripping in the street isn’t a hard thing to do (hey, I’ve done it once or twice…).

Lindsay And Michael Lohan's Lawyers To Meet In Person

In what seems like a desperate attempt to get her father to shut his trap, Lindsay Lohan has agreed to let her lawyer meet with Michael’s in person next week.

Michael says his daughter needs to attend rehab for substance abuse. A source close to the Lohan clan claims Lindsay is in “a complete downward spiral”.

Her mother, Dina, insists her ex-husband is just trying to get his hands on Lindsay’s money. Michael says Dina is in denial about Lindsay’s problems.

Sounds like a nice game of “he-said, she-said”. When will it end?

Lindsay Lohan "In A Really Good Place"

Despite rumors that claim otherwise, Lindsay Lohan calls her party girl reputation a “misconception.”

The actress told radio host JoJo Wright on KIIS-FM that she doesn’t pay attention to blogs that monitor her every move. She also says show business is “a very build-you-up-to-take-you-down industry” and that “it’s not a crime to go out and have fun with your friends.”

As for her father’s attempt to stage an intervention with his daughter, Lindsay explains:

I think it’s just foul, some of the things that get said by my dad. No one should ever have to worry about their father saying those things publicly against them… it distracts from all the work that I’m doing.

She goes on to call her mother an “amazing woman” who has been “put through hell by him”. Lindsay is currently working on upcoming projects in fashion and film and assures everyone she’s “in a really good place”.

Michael Lohan To Take Legal Action To Help Lindsay

Lindsay Lohan exits a boutique via the rear door into the alleyway with a police escort

Lindsay Lohan’s father is preparing “any and all appropriate legal action” to stop her life from spiraling out of control. After he attempted to stage an intervention at the actress’ Hollywood home last week, Michael went public with his plans to ask a judge to place Lindsay under a conservatorship. He did agree to drop it if she would sit down and discuss her problems.

Michael’s lawyer released the following statement:

Michael has a problem millions of Americans have: what can a parent do when an adult child appears to have a serious alcohol or drug problem? What can a parent do when that adult child’s life appears to be spiralling out of control?

He added:

Michael loves his daughter with all his heart. He has watched along with the rest of us over the past few months as Lindsay has been photographed partying and clubbing night after night, appearing as though she is under the influence of alcohol or substances. He is heartbroken about her current condition. With his own two eyes, just last week, he has seen her looking worse than ever.

Relentless. Do you think it’s a bad or good thing?

Dina Lohan Places A "Protective Team" Around Lindsay

It’s not that Dina Lohan can’t see her daughter needs help for a reportedly substance abuse, it’s that she doesn’t want to talk about it in public (unlike her father, Michael!).

Lindsay’s mom says:

I don’t really listen to what Michael says. I have a team behind Lindsay. I’m certainly not going to tell you or the public what I’m doing but I definitely don’t sit idle and do nothing. We have a tight inner circle and we keep things private as a family.

She tells OK! magazine:

Michael has no relationship with his children. He has no visitation. My daughter Ali has a block on her phone, my little one doesn’t talk to him, my older son Michael is in college and doesn’t talk to him and Lindsay has no relationship with him. He has hurt them deeply by what he’s done publicly and it breaks my heart.

Dina continues:

I can’t make him be a better father, but I want him to stop hurting Lindsay publicly. He needs to focus on his three other children and take care of them. It’s time for him to be quiet for while.

Michael announced his engagement to Kate Major earlier this week.
