In its opening weekend, Jennifer Aniston’s new flick took in $8.1 million. This lands the comedy in eighth place overall…ouch!

Surprisingly enough, it was beat out by Vampires Suck ($12.2 million), Lottery Ticket ($11 million) and Piranha 3-D ($10 million). Eat, Pray, Love, Julia Roberts new film, landed at #4 on the list, while Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables raked in $16.5 million at #1.

We wonder why The Switch did so poorly. Did anyone see it over the weekend? What did you think?

During a press tour for her new film, The Switch, Jennifer Aniston explained she always takes a lesson away from every role she plays.

In regards to her character in the upcoming flick, she says:

I’ve learned something from Kassie and every character I’ve played. Especially, in this case, the women in my life I’ve known who have gone through the struggles and heartbreak frustrations of fertility, adoption, and all of that.

Aniston continues:

I think that’s why this jumped out for me, so immediately. Because I thought it was so timely and progressive and hadnt been previously discussed. And to have a love story woven through it, was just sorta beautiful. And it’s hysterical.

When asked by reporters if she believed exes could be friends after such an event, she quickly replied “yes”. The world just wishes she remained close with Brad…don’t you think?! It’s amazing that so many years after their split, tabloids want to claim they’re still in love!

Seems like Brad and Angelina are plastered everywhere these days, but our hearts still belong to Jennifer Aniston! Her new movie The Switch looks adorable! This month, catch her in Harper’s Bazaar, where she chats about being in the spotlight, her career plans, and finding humor in just about anything. The accompanying photo spread plays homage to Barbra Streisand and illustrates iconic scenes from some of her most famous movies. (Think Funny Girl and What’s Up Doc?) The issue hits newsstands August 17th. Here are some tidbits from the interview:

On being a funny girl:

People laugh at me. Sometimes I know why, and sometimes I don’t. But I can pretty much find humor in anything. That is a necessary part of life. I don’t want to say laughter is healing, because it sounds corny, but it’s a release.

On what she’s learned from Barbra Streisand:

You don’t have to stop at one thing. You can do it all if you want to.

On being in the spotlight:

[Barbra and I] are people who have been put in the spotlight, for better or for worse, and you just keep riding, and you keep overcoming.

On looking up to Streisand:

Barbra inspires me because there isn’t anything she hasn’t done that she wanted to do, especially as a female in the time when her generation was prime. She’s a true renais­sance woman. . . I had a long conversation with Barbra about directing because I directed a short a couple years ago, and if I don’t do it again soon, I’m going to burst out of my skin. And we also love interior design.

The actress obtained a restraining order Jason R Peyton, an alleged stalker who believes he will marry Jennifer and they will have children together. He traveled cross-country to find her, and was arrested after spending time looking for her on Sunset Boulevard.

Court documents said she feared for her safety. They also included that:

Mr. Peyton has aggressively sought to have personal contact with me and integrate himself into my life. Due to Mr. Peyton’s delusional compulsion and increasingly harassing, stalking and threatening conduct, I have been subjected to a course of conduct which has and is seriously alarming, annoying and harassing me. Mr. Peyton’s ongoing, ever-increasing, aggressive and harassing conduct are extremely distressing. I fear for my personal safety and that of those around me.

Petyon was found waiting outside near her home with a sharp instrument, a bag and a roll of duct tape. SO incredibly scary.

It really blows my mind that a reality TV star like Heidi Montag is making a cameo appearance in a flick that Jennifer Aniston is starring in.

The two are both working on a project directed by Adam Sandler, titled Just Go With It. Heidi is reportedly very excited to meet her co-star. An insider says:

She grew up watching Friends and Rachel was always her favorite character.

Of course, Spencer is so excited too and thinks this will elevate his wife’s status to that of a viable movie actress. He plans to hang out on the set as much a s possible and buddy up to Jen.
