American Idol Drama: Was it Rigged?

AT&T may have had a part in Kris Allen winning American Idol this year.
The New York Times reports that the phone company provided phones for free text-messaging services at two parties in Arkansas on the night of the finals. Voters we’re shown how to send 10 votes at one time, something that violates the shows rules.
Adam Lambert’s fans did not have the same treatment, and are now taking it to internet message boards to say the voting was rigged.
AT&T released the following statement:
In Arkansas, we were invited to attend the local watch parties organized by the community. A few local employees brought a small number of demo phones with them and provided texting tutorials to those who were interested."
