by Kerri
There’s a new lounge and lingerie line making its debut the season, and once you spot it, you’ll want to debut it as part of your outfit!
Brulee is a brand of undergarments that is sexy and seductive, minus the typical frills and lace. Each piece has an exquisite twist that is guaranteed to have you feeling like a glamour goddess, whether its a custom made button or trim, a silky fabric, or a unique cut showing off just the right amount of skin.

Browse the web site to find everything from sexy bodysuits, rompers and thongs in rich silk and chiffon, to comfy leggings, lounge pants, and camisoles in soft jersey and cotton. (Not to mention…the colors are beautiful!)
What’s the story behind the luxurious line? How do the pieces double as daytime wear? Check out our EXCLUSIVE interview with Brulee designer Kristian Giambi.

Why did you decide to start your own loungewear line?
I wasn’t finding the type of lingerie and loungewear I wanted, so I was inspired to design undergarments that women would feel feminine and beautiful in, without the frills and lace. Classic pieces that are glamorous and have an edgy twist. That modern femininity is so sexy to me.
We love the name Brulee! Is there a story behind it?
I am glad you love the name Brulee! I love it too! It took a long time for me to come up with just the right name. I thought Brulee was perfect for the brand. It is a strong, sexy and sophisticated name; yet still elegantly feminine.

What inspires your designs?
I find inspiration in so many things so it is hard to just pick one, but being a lingerie designer I find inspiration in the beauty women embody for simply just being female. That essence is so powerful. I also I find inspiration in the men that notice them and wonder what they are wearing underneath…
What makes Brulee different from other loungewear out there?
I think it differs in the details. The piece are classic but the details give the line a subtle edge. We custom make most of the trims and buttons used in the line. I especially love the jet-black swarovski buttons and square nail-head buttons. Those details quietly give classic and sophisticated pieces a rocker vibe with out being over the top. Also, some of the pieces have transition appeal. Although it is lingerie it doesn’t necessarily mean it must go unseen…

These pieces aren’t just for night time! Can you tell our readers about the styles that double as day time wear?
I travel often so I like some of my pieces to have versatility: Like pairing the bodysuit with skinny jeans or a pencil skirt and jacket during the day, then simply removing the jacket for instant transition into evening & night.
What advice would you give someone who wants to become a clothing designer?
Education is important, but beyond that I believe finding a mentor in the business who can offer their insight is invaluable.
What is one thing our readers would be surprised to know about you?
One of my guilty pleasures is watching the reality show “The City.” I just can’t get enough of it!
What’s up next for Brulee?
Next season promises to leave everyone wanting to know what is underneath.

Where to Buy: Pieces retail from $36 to $178 on Brulee.net, as well as select boutiques throughout the United States.
