Katie Cassidy In Saturday Night Magazine

Katie Cassidy is featured in Saturday Night Magazine, where she gives a little more information on her on Melrose Place.

Here are some excerpts from her interview!

On comparisons between Melrose Place and Gossip Girl

I think on a stylistic level it’s like the Westside Gossip Girl. It’s edgy, it’s cool, it’s dramatic, it’s young and fun and appeals to all different audiences. And Gossip Girl is really good at what they do, so I’m flattered to be compared to them.

On playing a character who’s bisexual

[Ella] is “try-sexual,” meaning she will try anything. She is so open and so free, you never what she is going to do. I think it comes from a place where she is desperately seeking love and acceptance from everyone around her. She doesn’t let anyone see the vulnerability that is there. She definitely puts her guard up and protects herself at all times.

On what she thinks of the original Melrose Place

I have actually never seen the original. I wasn’t allowed to when I was younger. My parents wouldn’t let me watch it. I haven’t had time to catch up with it. I didn’t want to watch it until we really get into things so it doesn’t have an effect on my performance…But now that I have had some time to sink into the character, I feel more comfortable going back and watching it and I will.

To be 100% honest, I couldn’t get into watching Melrose 2.0. Just not that interested! How about you?
