This makes me so sad.

Kate Gosselin appeared on the Today Show with Meredith Vieira this morning, where she revealed Jon did in fact withdraw a large sum of money from their joint bank account.

The 34-year-old said:

He took $230,000 of the $231,000 [in their shared banking account], and I have a stack of bills in my purse that I can’t drop in the mail.

She continued:

When you’ve left your children and their mother unable to pay for the roof over their head, it’s not acceptable.

Kate also notes she never thought she’d be in this predicament:

We were in the position after our sextuplets were born that we could not pay our bills. We did the show to provide a better life for them. Never did I think I’d be back in the same position.

In regards to the team of experts Jon has backing him, his estranged wife goes on:

I can’t sleep at night. I can’t pay my bills. I think he’s receiving bad counsel. He’s always been one to listen to the one next to him.

It seems as though Jon’s claims that the TLC show is hurting his children is false, said Kate:

I told the kids over the weekend that we weren’t filming. Times eight, there was wailing and sobbing. They love the crew, they love the interaction, they love the events. It is not harmful to them. They are angry.

Hopefully he’s not using that money to buy things for his new girlfriend, Hailey Glassman. I feel so sorry for those kids.
